Meet Meiraba Luwang, a
young badminton player from Manipur. He recently won the Under-15 Yonex
Sunrise, Junior Grand Prix International tournament in Jakarta, Indonesia,
after defeating the number 11 seed Sulistio Tegar of Indonesia in the
finals 21-14, 21-15.

Not only in the finals, but throughout the tournament, he was in
great form, as he defeated the top seed Muhamad Akbar Firdaus of Indonesia in
the semi-final 21-13, 21-19 and third seed Hak Joo Lee of South Korea
19-21,21-13,21-17 in the Quarter-final.
Even in the doubles category of the same event, he along with his partner Rafael Gavois of France finished
runners-up, after losing 17-21, 9-21 to the English pair of William Jones and
James Penver.
This tournament is widely regarded as one of the top level
tournaments in the under-15 age group.
Currently,
he is training at the Prakash Padukone Badminton Academy.
